RaShonda is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the District of Columbia and Virginia with over 5 years of experience providing therapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups dealing with a wide range of psychological needs. She holds a Bachelor's in Professional Health Sciences from the University of South Alabama and a Master's in Social Work with a specialization in Gerontology from Louisiana State University, Geaux Tigers!

She integrates person-centered and strength-based approaches to her work with clients. Her principles in practice involve multiculturalism and social justice and she uses both to inform her understanding of client concerns holistically. She integrates evidence-based modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, and trauma-informed into her practices.

Outside of her clinical work, RaShonda is a Researcher & Scholar currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Higher Education at The George Washington University. She is deeply passionate about exploring the health disparities and systemic barriers marginalized college students face and their influences on academic persistence. Her research interest lies in understanding the systemic barriers and challenges these students encounter in accessing mental health support, influenced by a myriad of complex social and environmental factors. She is committed to examining how intersections of race, socioeconomic status, gender identity, and other aspects of identity contribute to unequal access to mental health services of minoritized populations

RaShonda enjoys is providing presentations on a variety of mental health-related topics including workshops, panels, conferences, and podcasts. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. When she’s not working she enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.
